About Us

Kerala Organic Manures & Fertilizers company was established by Mr.Gopalakrishnan in 1995 at Perinad, Kollam, Kerala.
Around 50 years back, Mr.Gopalakrishnan hailing from an ordinary family engaged in coir industry started his attempts to solve the problems of accumulated coirpith around his coir unit. All through his business, Mr.Gopalakrishnan was very well concerned about the environmental friendly treatments of coir pith.
It was during 1998 he happened to be acquainted with the Coir board’s technology of decomposing the coirpith to convert it into organic manure. He started a unit of producing coirpith organic manure which initially as a business faced up with great hardships. With immense patience, dedication and excellence in improving techniques, Kerala Organic Manures Company has groomed and flourished in due course.
By treating the coir pith with a fungus belongs to Pleurotus species the lignin can be broken down and the coir pith will become a decomposable organic matter. This technique provides a two fold benefit such as efficient management of a waste material and providing a valuable product for the agricultural sector.
So Kerala Organic Manures started with the production of coir pith organic manure and marketing the same to agricultural purposes.
Subsequently adding of various organic materials and microbes in various proportion are done in the base material C-pom and different products with different properties are developed, which got high demand among farmers and agriculturists. Our efforts for continuous quality improvement made us the largest coir pith organic manure unit having approval of Coir board.
Our firm is an approved training center for the students of Kerala Agricultural University. We are the principal suppliers of coir pith compost for various Central and State Government agencies including Central Tuber Crops Research Institute(CTCRI), Sreekaryam, Coir Board and plantations in public sector.
